I was born and raised on the Marsden housing Estate, South Shields. During my early education I attended Harton Infants, Harton Junior Boys and Redwell schools. Later on I attended South Tyneside College & Sunderland Polytechnic. I gained an honours degree at the Poly. I have been employed in the Civil Service since 1990. I am married with one child. I am the current Chairman of the Licensing and Regulatory Committee and a governor at Harton Primary school.
Due to the schools summer break commencing 19th July, there will be no ward surgeries for Labour Cllrs in Harton Ward and Horsley Hill Ward from Saturday 20th July resuming on Saturday 7th September at Marsden Road Community Centre ,10.00am-11.00am.
